① 如果與時間無關,只是強調「某種特徵的相似」,則用前綴quasi-,比如金發碧眼英文流利的白人但不是美籍,可以叫做quasi-Americans,單從文化和語言的角度看那個名人大山,他也是a quasi-Chinese。 ② 如果與時間有關,強調「現在不是但以後基本會是」的概念,則用後綴 -to-be,例如 my wife-to-be. ③ 如果強調「個人的企圖心很強但別人可能不認為TA真的是那個事物」的概念,則用定語 would-be。比如拍了一部低成本片兒還是群演之一但平時生活裡還挺拽覺得自己是個腕儿的綠茶婊可以叫a would-be top actress(準一線女星),所以這個定語帶有些貶義,包含「他們實際上並不是、將來也成不了」的意味。 ④ 如果是「離實際還差些距離,而且是不容忽略的距離」可以用前綴 semi-,例如 semi-pro(準專業的、準職業的)。 ⑤ 如果是與「資質」有關,表示「在做一件事但沒有十足的資質,因此只能是個替補」這個概念,用前綴para-,例如paramedic(醫師助理,可以做護理工作、可以在某些時候代替醫師執行任務、可以稱作「準醫師」,但沒有醫師那樣完備的資質)。
